A group of 7 movement practitioners met at the Spreetunnel to go into the woods and move together. At dusk the group was led through the tunnel and to a clearing in the woods - a little deeper than for the first Moontag. This time those participating had a background in some expressive movement, and the intention was to establish a community for the evening that would allow people to witness and be witnessed, moving, telling stories, in stillness, or anything else that came.
We cleared a circle of larger sticks which we laid around its edge. We added a circle of candles and some electric lights. Then we came together, washed in some incense and drank some whiskey. One person held the space, and at first I led a group movement exercise: walking and travelling through the day, then emerging from the internal to allow it to mingle with the external, the people, the woods, the air. The second stage was witnessing, a smaller circle, with one person (usually) in the centre each time. Sitting, crying, moving, singing. We paused after a few people had gone, and came together to have another dram of whiskey and see how the rest of the evening might go. Everyone was happy to stay and we added in a soundscape, where those around the edge vocalised in response to the movement of the person at the centre, and the person at the centre responded to the sounds of the group. Once it was done we thanked the trees and cleared the space and had a big hug. Then we moved out of the woods to the edge of Muggelsee and shared some tea, before returning to the city.
